Michael has been contributing remarkable insights, provocative ideas and deep experience on both the client and agency sides of the business for over 18 years. He has been a CMO and Chief Creative Officer in the music and entertainment industry, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising in the fashion industry, VP Strategy and Account Planning at a national direct marketing firm, as well as Founder and CEO of an award-winning, brand consultancy and evolving ideas boutique in San Francisco. A creative thinker who knows the importance of a sound strategic foundation, Michael has built his reputation by working with a diverse group of leading thinkers, advertising agencies, Fortune 1000 companies and innovative smaller enterprises. He has helped clients like Robert Mondavi, HP, Microsoft, Gibson, Bank of America, Levi's, Varian Medical Systems and many others successfully assert their corporate brand and product positions in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
He is also an acclaimed speaker, lecturer, business writer and opinionist in the popular press - NPR, CNN, BRANDWEEK, Fortune Magazine, Fast Company, The Wall Street Journal and The San Francisco Chronicle among others. Additionally, Michael is currently working on the book Brains, Beauty and Beliefs: How Brands Work and Why You Should Care.
Michael has guest lectured on innovation, strategic marketing, brand issues and creativity at many colleges and universities, including the University of California, Los Angels, USC and Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obsipo.
